Well, if you found this Blog, then you have found our new website. Hope you like it so far! This new blog feature could be fun, so as long as Sarah doesn’t kick me off of it, I guess I will be blogging now.
I guess a good place to start is to officially introduce myself. My name is Chris Zimmerman, and I am one of the owners of Ricochets Gymnastics. If you haven’t met me yet, I am easy to spot in the gym. I am “THE ONLY GUY”. Most of your children probably know me as the guy that ramdomly pushed them in the pit while they were waiting in line, or chucked a block at them whien they weren’t looking.
I have been coaching gymnastics for about 23 years now. It’s the only job I’ve had since I was 16 years old. I started out at a gym called Bucks Gym 2, which is where I took gymnastics classes as a kid. After a few years coaching I decided this was going to be a carrer for me, and that is what brought me to Ricochets in 1997. At the time, Ricochets had one of the top competitive programs in the country, so I figured I needed to come learn from one of the best. I was an assistant coach here for 13 year, and went from the new guy that knew nothing, to helping produce numerous State, Regional, and National Champions.
In 2010, it was time for a new challenge, so I left to run a program of my own. In three years there, I helped jumpstart a struggling program, winning some state and regional titles, as well as getting the gyms first ever Junior Olympic National qualifier and their first ever Full College Scholarship.
Early in 2013, I recieved a phone call from Ricochets previos owner. She asked if I was interested in coming back to buy Ricochets. I jumped on the opportunty, and on July 1st of 2013, I took over the gym along with my partner Sarah.
I guess thats enough to get us started in blog world. I’ll be back with more on Ricochets, and where we are headed!
