Hello Everyone. Here is new update for what's going on. We were told we needed to close for two weeks while they did repairs. The remediation company is done their part, and we have been told that as of now, there has not been a company even hired yet to come finish the repair work. We cannot continue to remain closed while they figure all of this out. So, we will start putting the gym back together tomorrow so that everything is ready to go to hopefully start our session next week. (Exact date to be decided, but hoping for Thursday)

We will also be learning some new skills here at Ricochets. First of which is how to hang drywall. We need to close off some walls in a few areas so that it is safe to start running our programs again. If anyone is around that has some drywall knowledge, we may need some consulting. Also, I am told there is a such thing as a drywall screw gun. If anyone has one to lend, that would be a big help.

So...as much as we hate to ask for it, we will be looking for some helping hands for the next few days. We plan to be here at 9:00am tomorrow (Friday) morning to get started. If you can spare some time, we really appreciate it.

You dont have to use a drywall gun it just helps speed the process up. I have a impact gun you can use. Just as fast. Might have some bits to use as well. Dry wall isnt to hard but it is heavy

Something to be mindful with drywall is that sanding down the mud (joint compound smoothing out the seams between the sheets) can create a lot of dust. Have you considered putting up bead board over unmudded drywall so you won’t have to worry about dust as you hold practice?

I know how to hang drywall, and tape/mud! 🙂 Can I sleep over in the gym? I'm out in NC! haha

While restoration is still underway at the gym, we just wanted to let you know we are thinking about you! Especially since we normally would have just finished the exciting first week of classes. But now we have that fun first week to look forward to! The reopen date (tbd) can’t come soon enough 😆 ... See MoreSee Less

I can’t imagine the nightmare this has been! So sorry!

Thanks for the update. I’ve been thinking of you guys.

A picture is worth a thousand words! It is one thing to try to explain what you have been through, but when you SEE it! Wow! The remediation company looks like they are moving pretty quickly, so hopefully the gym will look awesome soon! And very, very clean:)

Omg man, hope things get done quickly bro

Thanks for the update.

Dam dude!

Hello everyone,

After speaking to the restoration company today, we learned that we need to close for roughly two weeks for them to complete the work to finishing cleaning up from hurricane Ida.

Although this is frustrating, we know these steps are necessary to keep everyone safe from the possible exposure to mold; which is priority. Ricochets will be closed, effective September 8th. We will be in touch about an official “re-opening” date as we know more.

We would appreciate your support and patience as we navigate this situation. We will be in touch as soon as we know more details. We will also address the financial end of this closure upon reopening.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
Thank you,

Sarah and Chris
